new life for baby clothes

I've had a busy week of sewing. This happy, girly queen size quilt was commissioned by my client for her daughter's birthday. I had a lot of fun making this quilt!

The letter blocks were made from photo transfers and swatches of baby clothes, toddler clothes, well loved Sponge Bob jammies, her first layette, crib skirt and school uniform. Saturday morning cartoons, first birthday, first day of school....

Her mother remembered all the particulars....mothers are like that..

I used an awesome Kaffe Fassett floral for the backing.

Endearing phrases, significant dates, nicknames and pet names were quilted amongst flower gardens and butterflies to finish this keepsake quilt.

Happy weekend everyone!
